Winnie's recovery part 2

So this is the glorious set up for the first two weeks. Winnie still needs the e-collar to prevent agitating the staples in his leg. He can't manage stairs for a bit, so I'm hanging out on the couch...not so fun.
Here's Winnie once the staples have been removed and he's feeling quit a bit better :-)
I put this card up and all the kids at work signed it for a couple of weeks wishing Winnie well.
This was my favorite note on the poster--so sweet!
Here we are with the gorgeous maple tree in the back yard--such a pretty time of year. So sad to see the garden go--I've had the best time this summer!

Winnie's surgery part 1

Winnie tore his second ACL at the end of September and needed TPLO surgery...AGAIN. This is the same surgery he had 2 years ago on the OTHER knee. This was the day he came home with his cast still on.
Two days later we're getting a little sunshine on the patio with cousin Addison who came to help out during the recovery process.
Surgery is such a bummer.
Cast came off...looks pretty rough, huh?
OWIE!!

Winnie pictures

Winnie is very serious about this ball stuff.
C'mon I'm tired of taking pictures--let's PLAY!!!
This is the ZEN-Win pose :-)
Big grin!

Where do tomatoes go when the summer ends?

I needed to harvest all the tomatoes left before it was going to freeze last night (10/9/08)
Here I am after having peeled a ton of tomatoes by blanching them (boiling water, then ice water, then slide the skins right off!)
Mom is adding some of the spices!
Starting to smell yummy in here!
Here we go--lots and lots of spaghetti sauce!! YUMMY!!

September veggies

Veggie plot nearing the end of September--still going strong!

I planted more sugar snap peas--they are looking happy, but I'm not sure if I will get to harvest any peas before the frost comes.
Butterfly bushes have really taken off and have probably been my favorite plant of the summer--such fragrant blossoms--I was able to clip a fresh bouquet every couple of days.
Dahlias
Snapdragons & Johnny Jump-ups under my maple tree

September updates

Roses & butterfly bush blooms--so pretty!

Broccoli & vegetable bed view
This plant was a bit of a mystery for most of the summer. It looked like it was SOMETHING but it didn't look like any of the pictures of flowers I planted--until it BLOOMED! Welcome Candygirl!

More roses...more butterfly bush blooms. I have so enjoyed my butterfly bushes this year. They were so tiny when I planted them but they have grown SO FAST & given me SO many beautiful flowers!
